Proposals to Measure Magnetic Current.

Magnetic frustration in spin ice allows the study of emergent properties. Specifically, it has been shown that the spin system in Dy2Ti2O7 allows for the generation of magnetic charge. The density of the magnetic defects can be carefully controlled and in principle a magnetic current can be measured. I will discuss the theoretical and experimental methods required to support this claim.
