Linking theory and experiment -- a proposal for accurate modelling of nanographene

In this presentation I will discuss the application of a generalised tight binding model to the design problem of graphene nanoribbons, and, in doing so, will demonstrate the use of our 'graphene' user interface (GRUI) that directly links theory and experiment. A key aim of the GRUI is to facilitate the parameterisation of the model against experiment, thereby assisting in the development of more accurate, realistic and rapid simulation of low-dimensional, sp2-bonded carbons systems.
