I had been in Lancaster for the past three years as a Ph. D. student (May 2005-2008). Lancaster is an ideal place for study in the sense that it is calm and peaceful. The university has adequate resources (growing everyday) and bunches of faculty who are very warm and knowledgable. The study pattern is not hectic, but well organized. It also has plenty of room for entertainment, relaxation and socialization. I strongly recommend Lancaster for study (both taught and research).
