Biomedical physics appealed to me early on as it was an application of the physics I had learned that was really tangible. I was hooked by a biomedical physics course during my undergraduate degree, where we were taught how physics could be used to understand the functioning of the human body, from cellular activity to organ function. When it came to my final year project, I chose to carry on with biomedical physics, and was able to make a project of my own design, an experiment on the effects of exercise on cardio respiratory couplings. During my PhD, I have expanded on this project, as well as taking part in joint research with the local hospital and groups from around the world.
