Although my first degree was in physics, I have always had an interest in biology and the life sciences. This is why I jumped at the opportunity to take two medical physics modules in the third year of my degree at Lancaster. It was during these modules that I was introduced to Aneta and the group and I am now very happy to be working with them as a PhD student.

My PhD is looking at the nonlinear dynamics of brain-cardiovascular interactions and involves both data analysis and theoretical modelling. I find the work very refreshing since it retains the freedom of theoretical science but still has real-world outcomes. The application to medicine gives the research a much deeper meaning and is an additional source of motivation on top of my underlying interest in the area.
