Member of the Lancaster Particle Physics Research Group
My main area of research is the development of detectors for the Particle Physics experiments. This includes in particular building the semiconductor tracker for the ATLAS experiment at the LHC accelerator in CERN (Geneva), and recently an R&D for the future ATLAS tracker upgrade to meet the demands of the planned improved accelerator, the so called Super-LHC. An active participation of our group in the international collaboration RD50, dedicated to the development of semiconductor detectors for future accelerators, helps in achieving this aim.
I am also involved in building the lead-scintillator calorimeter equipped with novel semiconductor photosensors for the neutrino experiment T2K in Japan.
