The Mid-infrared Network was funded by EPSRC from 1999-2003. The purpose of the Network was to bring together expertise and facilitate research in key areas of semiconductor materials growth, device physics and fabrication in order to advance the state-of-the-art in mid infrared optoelectronics. Network activities included organised meetings every 6 months with invited speakers on selected topics and regular newsletters, which can still be found on the appropriate web-page.

The Network was co-ordinated by Tony Krier of the Mid-infrared Optoelectronics Group at Lancaster University and managed by a steering committee of researchers from industry and academia.

Although EPSRC funding for the Network has come to an end, some Network activities continue. Please contact Tony Krier for any further information or to be added to the mailing list.
