Multi-parametric studies of 2D materials: probing the influence of local environment

Two-dimensional (2D) materials such as graphene, MoS2, Bi2Se3 possess outstanding electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties. However, whilst these are widely studied in ‘ideal’ conditions, nanoscale exploration of inherent and interfacial properties of these materials in a range of application-specific environments requires new multi-parametric characterisation techniques. Here I will present recent results essential for the application performance and fundamental understanding of these 2D nanostructures.
