Physics Careers Question Time Panel

Wednesday 28 November 2012, 1300-1500
C36 Physics Building

Lancaster University have teamed up with the National HE STEM Programme to host a Question Time Panel event exploring careers in physics. The aim is to raise awareness of careers for physicists, with an emphasis on non-academic and non-teaching roles, and to provide an opportunity for students to ask career-related questions to professionals with a physics First Degree/PhD.

The panel will comprise 5 STEM Ambassadors who, after making brief introductions, are willing to answer career-related questions. Each can talk about the challenges they have faced in relation to their career pathways and how they resolved them. The panel will also be able to provide hints and tips for successful job applications and interviews and can also discuss the skills that employers are looking for and how interviewees can stand out from the crowd.

Students in their penultimate or final year of study are invited to attend. This is an interactive Q&A session, not a lecture, so some along prepared to ask questions! The event includes a free lunch, but spaces are limited so sign up soon!
