QFS2012: International Conference on Quantum Fluids and Solids
15 – 21 August 2012, Physics Department, Lancaster University, UK
Co-chairs: S.N. Fisher and G.R. Pickett
The 2012 International Conference on Quantum Fluids and Solids will be held in Lancaster UK. The scientific programme will start on Thursday August 16th and end before lunch on Tuesday 21st August. This conference continues in the long-standing tradition of such conferences being held two out of every three years, skipping the year of the International Low Temperature Conference — the last such Low Temperature Conference (LT26) was held in Beijing, August 2011.
Recent QFS Conferences:
QFS2010 was held in Grenoble, QFS2009 in Evanston, QFS2007 in Kazan, QFS2006 in Kyoto, and QFS2004 in Trento. The history of the conference series is well-described by Bob Hallock.
Programme
Registration is now open - go to registration.
- Quantum fluids, solids, surfaces and cold gases
- QFS topics in magnetism and superconductivity
- Strongly correlated condensed systems
- Condensed-matter systems at the quantum limit
- QFS Model systems in cosmology, hydrodynamics and HEP
- Novel ultralow temperature techniques, detectors and devices
The proceedings of the conference will be published in a special issue of The Journal of Low Temperature Physics.
