The historic City of Lancaster,

spanning back to Roman times, has many notable buildings including the Priory and Castle. There is a good mix of modern and traditional pubs, restaurants and bars. There are great shopping arcades and markets, cinemas, theatres, as well as museums and art galleries.

The University,

founded in 1964, is set in 250 acres of beautiful parkland and woods on the outskirts of the historic City of Lancaster.
