The excursion will take place after lunch on 12th of April
and will end with dinner at Low
Wood Hotel
at 19:00 in the evening.
Some variants are offered for the day:
Brantwood
A trip to Brantwood,
the home of John Ruskin, on the shore on Coniston, and/or other Lake district historic buildings and museums.
The route taken by the bus will provide beautiful views of Windermere,
Coniston, and the Lakeland Fells. There will be a guided tour of the
house, its extensive gardens, and its environs.
Three or four Lake District walks ranging
in severity from sedentary to much more challenging.
All the walks will provide panoramic views of the bucolic beauty of the surrounding lakes and fells.
Those choosing any
walk should wear boots or strong shoes together
with
warm, water-resistant, clothing!
Note that with the exception of the first option, numbers are strictly limited in each case, and also that options may be withdrawn if
there are too few takers. In addition, the walks will be cancelled if continuous heavy rain is forecast.
In all such cases substitutions will be made.
